BT holds innovation day for 19 Israeli tech cos

19 Israeli technology companies from Comverse to new start-ups participated in the program.

BT Group plc (NYSE; LSE: BT) has held its first innovation day for Israeli technology companies, apparently with the aim of collaborative ventures that could total hundreds of millions of dollars. 19 Israeli companies participated in the innovation day at BT's London headquarters, in the presence of BT Group CEO Ian Paul Livingstone.

The Israeli companies included makers of telecommunications equipment, software applications, and services. The companies ranged from Comverse Technology Inc. (Pink Sheets: CMVT) to new start-ups. Some, like cVidya Networks Ltd. already collaborate with BT, which signed a $5 million contract with the Israeli start-up a year ago.

Other participants included Celeno Communications Ltd., Cellex Networks Ltd., Dyuna Blue Ltd., EZlegacy Ltd., Fenavic Ltd., InterCast Networks Ltd., Kayote Networks Ltd., NewACT Ltd., ObserveIT Systems Ltd., Olista Ltd., Pontis Networks Ltd., Pudding Media Inc., Sensomatix Ltd., Tjat Systems Ltd., and Vringo Ltd.

Some of the companies will participate in BT projects, which will give the companies global exposure. BT selected the 19 participants out of 200 Israeli companies.
